Boston's first plane ride. He did so good, I was worried but he slept most of it there and back and was happy the rest of the time.
When we first got there we saw the headquarters of The Church of Christ Scientist...above is their water fountain and below their first church.
Our hotel room was located on the 37th floor and these are views from our window!
On our second day of the trip, we visited the Boston Temple in Belmont, Massachusetts.
Afterwards, we had a wonderful visit with Spencer's mission president and his wife, Paul and Carolyn Thompson. He is the first counselor in the Temple Presidency and is staying a home adjacent to the temple.
This was taken in front of the Belmont Ward building. Here is where the missionaries had their transfer meetings when Spencer was on his mission.
Spencer served his mission for 7.5 months serving in the Longfellow Park 1st singles ward in Cambridge. They call it the "Longfellow Chapel" just off of Harvard Square.
Below is our family at the Boston Public Gardens in downtown next to Boston Commons.
Boston met some duck friends so we thought we would take a cute picture at the gardens.
Popular eating place of missionaries after district/zone meeting at Harvard Square.
Memorial on the freedom trail. This is of the first African American regiment in the north to serve in the Civil War (this is the group talked about in the movie "Glory").
Boston all bundled up at night.
Spencer took this cute picture of Boston seeming to hold on for dear life on a stroller ride.
The family at the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island...Spencer's last area on his mission.
Picture taken while watching the original game of tennis from the 1500's.

Boston Scott!
The famous "Cliff Walk" on Newport Island...miles of walking on a somewhat paved cliff while passing mansion after mansion.

One of Spencer's apartments while he lived in Brighton, Massachusetts (3rd floor). Spencer's first area for 9 months.
Dennis Villa (owner of the home and friend of the missionaries).
As close as we'll ever get to running the Boston Marathon...Finish Line!
Jackson and Allie with Boston waiting for the train at the subway station.
Beginning of the freedom trail at the current state house and former office of Governor/Brother Romney:)

Burial site of John Hancock...not a surprise his head stone is bigger than all the others!
Clock tower (used to be the first thing people on boats would see coming into town)...now a Marriot Hotel.
Both pictures of the old state house where the Declaration of Independence was first read to Bostonians in 1776.
The next pictures are taken at a large cemetery outside Boston in Cambridge called Mt. Auburn Cemetery. Famous people buried here include the author of "The Battle Hymn of the Republic," Mary Baker Eddy, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and tons of others.
Finishing the trip at Fenway Park.
We had a great time in Boston with the Hyde family!
Bosty's first trip to Boston!
