Granola Girls

A few of my sisters and I got together a few weeks ago and made Granola.  I had been wanting to make it for a while but wasn't sure how.   My sister Kristy had made it before so she helped us out.  It is SO yummy and super easy.  We changed a few things in the recipe to make it healthier.    Here is the recipe if anyone wants it.   You will love it!

8 cups rolled oats
1 ½ cups wheat germ
1 ½ cups oat bran
1 cup sunflower seeds
1 cup finely chopped or sliced almonds
1 cup finely chopped walnuts
1 cup finely chopped pecans  (I didn’t put these in)
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 cup honey
1 cup vegetable oil
1/2 tablespoon maple flavoring
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 cups raisins or sweetened dried cranberries

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.  Spray 2 large baking sheets with Pam.

Combine the oats, wheat germ, oat bran, sunflower seeds, almonds, pecans and walnuts in a large bowl.  Stir together salt, maple flavoring, honey, oil cinnamon and vanilla in a saucepan.    Bring to boil over medium heat, then pour over dry ingredients, and stir to coat.  Spread the mixture out evenly on the baking sheets.

Bake for 10 min and stir  then put it in for another 10 min, Cool, then stir in the raisins or cranberries before storing in an airtight container.

It’s so yummy, you will love it!!  J
